What makes it work
- Automatic role distribution. Enter player names, the app picks roles based on group size — 1 werewolf per 3-4 villagers plus special roles scaled to count.
- 10 included roles. Werewolf, Alpha Wolf, Seer, Witch, Hunter, Cupid, Little Girl, Thief, Old Villager, regular Villager. The full ruleset.
- Pass-and-play reveal. Each player sees their role privately as the phone passes around. No paper cards, no secret peeking.
- Narrator dashboard. Tracks alive/dead players, day counter, current role list. The narrator focuses on storytelling, not bookkeeping.
How it works
- 1Enter your player names (6-18 total) plus the narrator (who doesn't get a role).
- 2App auto-assigns roles. Pass the phone — each player privately sees their role and confirms.
- 3Narrator opens the dashboard. Tracks who's alive, what roles are still in play, current day.
- 4Narrator runs night phases by reading the dashboard prompts. Day phases happen verbally with the group.
Frequently asked
How does Werewolf work on PartyRounds?
Setup: enter player names. The app distributes roles automatically using the classic ratio (1 werewolf per 3-4 villagers) plus special roles based on group size. During reveal each player sees their role privately. The narrator then opens the dashboard with alive/dead tracking and day counter.
How many players does Werewolf need?
Minimum 6 players + 1 human narrator (who narrates the day/night phases). Optimal 8-14. Beyond 18 the game drags.
Which special roles are included?
10 roles: Werewolf, Alpha Wolf, Seer, Witch, Hunter, Cupid, Little Girl, Thief, Old Villager, regular Villager. The distribution auto-scales to player count.
Do I need a narrator?
Yes — a human one. The app handles role distribution and bookkeeping, the narrator handles atmosphere. Without a narrator the game loses its theatrical weight.
How long does a Werewolf round last?
At 8 players, about 20-30 minutes. At 12 players, 40-60 minutes. At 16+ players up to 90 minutes. Escalation-heavy special roles extend that.
